Perforations of the tympanic membrane are accompanied by hearing loss and an increased risk of complications, which justifies the search for minimally invasive and effective methods for their closure.
Aim: to evaluate the anatomical and functional results of myringoplasty using platelet-rich fibrin (PRF).
Materials and methods: The study included 36 patients aged 20-58 years with post-traumatic perforations of the tympanic membrane. All patients underwent myringoplasty with a PRF patch, followed by clinical, endoscopic, and audiometric monitoring.
Results: Complete anatomical engraftment of the PRF patch was achieved in 33 (91.7%) cases. The mean reduction in the bone-air interval was 24.3±3.1 dB (p<0.001). The results showed that PRF myringoplasty is an effective and safe method for closing tympanic membrane perforations, providing a high level of anatomical healing and a significant improvement in hearing function.
