Peer Review Process

Type of Review: Double-blind peer review:

  • the author's (or authors') personal data are not disclosed to the reviewer;
  • the reviewer's personal data are not disclosed to the author/authors.

Reviewer Selection Criteria:

  • Expertise in the field
  • Academic degree and rank
  • Absence of conflict of interest
  • Publication record

Peer Review Procedure:

Stage 1. Preliminary Review (up to 7 days):

  • Verification of compliance with the journal's scope 
  • Verification of compliance with formatting requirements 
  • Plagiarism check (using StrikePlagiarism) 
  • Decision: proceed to peer review or reject 

Stage 2. Assignment of Reviewers (2-3 days):

  • Selection of 2 independent reviewers
  • Sending invitations to the reviewers
  • Providing reviewers with an anonymized version of the article

Stage 3. Peer Review (2–4 weeks):

Documentation Form:

Review Questionnaire/Form: A standardized form with a scoring scale (relevance, scientific novelty, methodological correctness, alignment between title and content, reliability of results, validity of conclusions, formatting quality, and language).

Detailed Comment: An in-depth textual feedback with specific remarks.

Stage 4. Editorial Board Decision

Possible Reviewer Recommendations

  • Accept as is
  • Accept after minor revisions – without re-review
  • Accept after major revisions – with re-review 
  • Reject with the possibility of resubmission 
  • Reject

In case of a disagreement between reviewers, a third reviewer is appointed, or the final decision is made by the editorial board.

Stage 5. Revision by the Author (up to 2 weeks):

  • The author receives anonymous feedback
  • The author prepares a revised version 
  • Submission of a point-by-point response to the reviewers' comments

Stage 6. Final Decision:

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on the reviewers' recommendations.

Documentation Forms:

Reviews are completed using the journal's standard form.

All reviews are stored in the editorial archive for 3 years.

Reviews are provided upon request from the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) or other authorized bodies.

Timelines:

Overall timeframe from submission to the first final decision: 6-8 weeks.

Deadline for revision: 14 days.

Timeframe for re-review: 10-14 days.

Appeals: The author has the right to appeal a rejection decision within 10 days. The appeal is considered by an independent member of the editorial board.

Post-Acceptance Process: Once the manuscript has been accepted for publication, it undergoes literary editing, editing of the English abstract, and final corrections by the author.
